Workshops & Individual work & Exhibition & Text & Photography

NORWAY: How to work with art around concepts such as truth and documentary in an age of alternative facts, misinformation and propaganda?

Through a series of meme workshops, text and photographs, several unpredictable, thought-provoking and hopeful statements about today's society and media landscape were revealed. The project reflected on democracy and the current political climate through individual work and participatory activities. In a time with rise of populist leaders with autocratic traits who build down systems through which they themselves come to power, and serious threats to democratic forms of government as a backdrop.

Bye-Tiller has followed the American democracy in recent years, particularly the use of propaganda and memes. How can memes be intertwined with documentary and activism in a mobilization of voices on a small scale?
